GRADUAL SUCCESS

steps-to-success

Exodus 23:29-30 (NLT)     But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. 30 I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land.

Many times in our journey to success, we may experience certain frustrations and we often wonder why. It is good to be motivated and to have a can-do spirit. Indeed the promises of God are sure and with God all things are possible.

There are times when we have done everything right and we believe God for certain things but those things just seem delayed or do not manifest at our time of expectation.

God’s words to the children of Israel in Exodus 23:29-30 confirms the fact that God’s promises are sure but HIS TIMING is very crucial.

The millions of Israelites marching through the wilderness for 40years would have wanted nothing more than God clearing their land for them and driving out the inhabitants so they can possess the land. But God said, “I WILL NOT DRIVE THEM OUT IN A SINGLE YEAR”, so that the land will not become desolate.

Friends there are some things we desire in our lives to happen so bad so fast but guess what God may delay them for our own good. Driving out those inhabitants was a good thing but the consequences would have been bad.

When success comes faster than the maturity to handle it desolation sets in. When success manifests in a life of weak character, disaster explodes. Even in business if more customers come than you have the capacity to cater for, there will be chaos.

God told the Israelites, I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land. God will usually give us gradual opportunities as we build capacity. The human nature is always in a rush, we rush our children through school, we pride ourselves in being rich at a young age. But God wants us to be patient and build the necessary capacity for the breakthrough or success that we desire.

Many dreams are delayed, timelines shifted, goals readjusted but eventually success and an enduring one at that is achieved.

Be patient as God’s timing will never be too late. Delay is not denial; learn your necessary lessons so that you can withstand the winds of adversity that may come with your success. Be well grounded, seek to learn and not just to shine. Seek to serve and not just pursing fame.

Build up in strength, wisdom, knowledge and increase your capacity so that your success can have a strong unshakable base.

Shalom
